Caddy — by Elmeris LLC

Last updated: May 19, 2026

Summary

  • No data collection. Elmeris does not collect, receive, or store any information about you or your clipboard content.
  • No server transmission. Your clipboard data is never sent to Elmeris servers. The app has no Elmeris backend.
  • Your cloud, your control. Sync uses your personal iCloud (iOS) or Google Drive (Android) account — entirely under your control.
  • Fully on-device. All clipboard history is stored locally in the app's private sandbox on your device.
  • No tracking. There is no analytics SDK, no telemetry, no crash reporter that contacts external servers.
  • No account required. You do not sign in to Elmeris to use any feature of Caddy.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to the Caddy mobile application ("App") published by Elmeris LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a limited liability company incorporated in Wyoming, USA (30 N Gould St #43444, Sheridan, WY 82801). It describes how the App handles your personal data.

The short version: it doesn't. Caddy was designed so that your clipboard content — which can contain sensitive personal or professional information — stays entirely on your device and in your own cloud storage accounts. We have no servers that receive your clipboard data because the App never sends any to us.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

Elmeris does not collect, receive, store, or process any of the following:

  • Clipboard content of any kind (text, URLs, codes, passwords, etc.)
  • Labels, colors, or pin state you assign to clips
  • Usage frequency data or interaction patterns
  • Device identifiers, IP addresses, or hardware information
  • Usage analytics, session data, or interaction logs
  • Crash reports or diagnostic data transmitted off-device
  • Location data
  • Any personally identifiable information (PII)

This is an architectural guarantee, not a policy promise. The App contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising framework, and no Elmeris network client. It cannot transmit your data to us.

3. How Your Data Is Stored

All data created within the App is stored exclusively on your device:

iOS

Clipboard history and associated metadata (labels, colors, pin state, frequency counts) are stored in a local database within the App's private sandbox. The App's sandbox is not accessible to other apps or to Elmeris.

Android

Clipboard history and associated metadata (labels, colors, pin state, frequency counts) are stored in the App's private local database using Android's standard app sandbox protections. No other app or Elmeris can access this data.

4. Cloud Sync

When sync is enabled, Caddy synchronizes your clipboard history across your own devices using your personal cloud account:

  • iOS: Sync uses iCloud. Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account (managed by Apple) and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Elmeris has no access to your iCloud storage.
  • Android: Sync uses Google Drive. Your data is stored in your personal Google Drive account and governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Elmeris has no access to your Google Drive storage.

Synced data flows exclusively between your own devices through your own cloud account. Elmeris does not act as an intermediary, does not have access to your cloud credentials, and cannot read or modify your synced data.

5. Clipboard Permission

Caddy requests access to your device clipboard in order to read and save what you copy. This is the core functionality of the App. The clipboard content is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to Elmeris or any third party.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

Caddy offers an optional subscription to unlock the ability to save new clipboard items beyond the free tier. Subscription payments are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not collect, store, or process payment card information. We receive only confirmation of a valid active subscription from the platform.

7. Third-Party Services

Caddy does not integrate any third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or data processing. The only third-party services involved are Apple iCloud (for iOS sync) and Google Drive (for Android sync) — both of which are under your control and governed by their respective privacy policies.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Caddy is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App collects no personal data from any user, this is effectively a non-issue in practice.

9. GDPR and CCPA

Because we collect no personal data, the full exercise of rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection) and CCPA (right to know, delete, opt-out) is trivially satisfied: there is no personal data held by Elmeris to provide, correct, delete, or transfer.

If you wish to delete your data, simply delete the App from your device — all locally stored data is removed with it. To remove synced data, delete the Caddy folder from your iCloud or Google Drive account through the respective platform's settings.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we ever make material changes to this policy (for example if a future version adds any data collection), we will update the "Last updated" date and, where required by law, provide notice within the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
