Caddy 1.0.1: Haptics, Japanese, and Five New Store Languages

Caddy 1.0.1 is a smaller, polish-focused release two weeks after launch — a bit of physical feedback, and a first step toward a global audience.

Haptic feedback on copy

Copying a snippet now gives you a short haptic tap the moment the clipboard write completes, so you get a physical confirmation without having to glance at the screen. It’s a light impact on both platforms — UIImpactFeedbackGenerator(.light) on iOS, VibrationEffect.createOneShot on Android — tuned to feel like a light tap rather than a buzz.

Japanese paywall localization

The subscription screen is now fully localized into Japanese (ja), covering the trial explanation, pricing, subscription terms, auto-renewal notice, and the Subscribe and Restore Purchases buttons. The rest of the app’s interface is largely non-verbal — icons, labels you write yourself — so the paywall was the one place that genuinely needed translation first.

Store listings in five new languages

Caddy’s App Store and Google Play listings — title, subtitle, and description — are now localized into:

  • Spanish (es-MX / es-419)
  • Portuguese, Brazil (pt-BR)
  • German (de-DE)
  • French (fr-FR)
  • Japanese (ja / ja-JP)

Google Play listings went live as soon as the translations were ready. Apple doesn’t allow adding new locales to a listing that’s already live for the current version, so the App Store listings ship together with this release.
